Pastor Eric was called to East Koshkonong Lutheran in April of 2022. He was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, where many of his family and friends still live today. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and then Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa and was ordained a Minister of Word and Sacrament after graduating. Previously, Pastor Eric served Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa. Pastor Eric enjoys preaching, teaching, and doing pastoral care visits. He has authored as well as contributed to several theological essays which have been published in Currents in Theology and Mission. Pastor Eric is also deeply involved with and passionate about faith-based advocacy, specifically with the charity Bread for the World.

He is married to another pastor, Carina Schiltz, who currently serves Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown and the two of them live in Waterloo. Outside of parish ministry, Pastor Eric enjoys spending time with family and friends, fishing, studying theology, watching movies, and watching football.
